Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, France
Studied international advertising at the Canned Lions Festival (summer 2022), where I learned the intricacies of international advertising.
With a strong interest in international advertising, I applied and was accepted into a three week long university program to attend the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in France. During the week prior to and after the festival, we attended class daily and completed several assignments to further our understanding of the nuance surrounding international advertising including language, culture, and history. One such project involved forming teams to diligently research and study a country assigned to us: India. I led my team of fellow students in learning the advertising practices of the country, including conducting interviews with professionals working in India. I initiated an introduction with BBDO India Chief Creative Officer and was rewarded with privileged insight into the intricacies of advertising within a country as complex and diverse as India.
Yonsei University, South Korea
Attended Yonsei University in Seoul for a semester (summer 2021), where I advanced my Korean language and cultural skills.
Eager to further my understanding of the Korean culture and language, I applied and was accepted to attend Yonsei University for a summer semester through a competitive exchange program offered by The University of Georgia. While there, I completed a rigorous language course designed to challenge and expand language skills as well as improve cultural and contextual understanding. During the 6 week program, we attended two classes daily - a duration of 2 and a half hours - focused on all aspects of Korean language and culture, concluded by vigorous exams to ensure our learning success. While in Seoul I had the added advantage of gaining real world experience to practically improve my language skills and comfort speaking in Korean.
Oxford University, England
Attended Oxford University in England (spring 2020), where I completed rigorous studies in Korean Language, Criminology, Terrorism, and examinations of the Bible’s Old Testament.
As an academically ambitious student, I applied to attend Oxford University for a semester and was among the few students accepted to attend the second session of the 2020 Spring semester. As Oxford University classes are exceptionally robust and concentrated, their spring “semesters” are broken into two 8-week-long sessions, during which students attend very small classes with professors to receive more direct instruction. While COVID-19 prevented me from traveling to Oxford to attend in-person, I was able to attend my classes virtually in one-on-one sessions with my professors. This granted me the opportunity to thoroughly discuss my assignments, present my work, and defend my positions. I excelled in the environment and received high praise from my professors.
Rome, Italy
Studied abroad in Italy (summer 2019), where I attended on-site classes in classical culture, art, architecture, and history.
After attending classes in classical culture my freshman year of college, I interviewed for and was excepted into a university study abroad program to Italy. During the program, I studied classical culture, art, architecture, and history. Traversing the city and learning from seasoned and internationally-recognized professors on-site, I completed a vigorous syllabus which included several hours of classes daily. In addition, we conducted several academic excursions to archeological sites and monuments outside the city, including Pompeii and Herculaneum. The program concluded with projects and exams to cement my learnings.
