
The intersection of technology and communication: what it means.
While studying at The University of Georgia, I developed an interest in how technology influences and alters communication across platforms. From FaceTime and social media to the development of technologies like VR (Virtual Reality), the landscape of communication has been evolving endlessly. One area of particular interest to me is the rise of Virtual Influencers and their unprecedented effect on every field in which they’ve entered. Fashion, beauty, automotive, and even food are all industries where virtual influencers have left their mark. But what does their rise in popularity mean and what questions does it bring to the surface? To tackle some of these questions, I presented the slides seen below to my classmates, many of whom were unfamiliar with the existence and scope of virtual influencers.
